PR and communications specialist

Experience: 2 – 3 years

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum)

Job Description

Primarily responsible for maintaining a positive public image through the creation of media, press releases, articles, social media postings/messages and any other content of a similar nature. The position’s responsibilities also encompasses the development of PR strategies and campaigns to promote IEREK and its activities in hopes of increasing awareness of its services. Position also focuses on building a positive relationship with stakeholders, partners and connections in addition to allocating new opportunities in alignment with the company’s vision. Skills Required

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field OR experience working in customer relations (2-3 years)

• High proficiency in spoken and written English language (a must)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills

• The ability to exercise good judgement, make decisions where relevant/ needed and solve problems effectively

• An ability to set priorities, multi-task and work well with team members

Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to:

– Develop, support and promote company goals, including message development, social media content creation and media outreach

– Communicate with journalists, bloggers, investors, sponsors and customer audiences to help advance our activities

– Ensure digital marketing content aligns with the brand’s identity and message and support marketing campaigns

– Work closely with company executives to strengthen employee engagement activities (training, workshops, skills development etc.)

– Preparing and Editing organizational publications, proposals and reports for internal and external use/ ensuring they are of high quality.
